Townships were engineered as dormitory communities — far from opportunity, deliberately under-resourced. The result is some of the deepest, most concentrated poverty in the country.
We locate the township as the principal beneficiary of the struggle. Our response is a community-based approach to development — one that puts the power to transform society back into the hands of the people who live there.
